The history of World Chocolate Day

World Chocolate Day has been celebrated since 2009. Who do we have to thank for this tasty day? Joseph Fry who crafted the first ever chocolate bar back in 1847 on the same date. Before this British chocolate maker’s discovery, people only enjoyed chocolate as a drink.  

Fry discovered that by simply adding melted cocoa butter to cocoa powder, chocolate could become solid and eaten as a bar. What a wonderful discovery worthy of celebration! The world never looked back after that, and chocolate bars, just like Venchi’s are indulged in every day.
